The Top 10 Pet Friendly Hotels in the US

In response to these survey results, TripAdvisor sniffed out the top 10 pet-friendly properties in the country, including San Francisco's Argonaut Hotel (#4 on the list). These hotels all welcome furry family members with open paws and offer everything from plush dog beds and gourmet "Beastro" menus to doggie surf lessons.



1. Hermitage Hotel, Nashville, Tennessee: This TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice award-winner ($210-$285/night + $50 pet-surcharge per stay) offers a "Pampering Pet" program that features treats upon check-in, a cozy pets bed, and a pet-friendly menu. A dog-walking service is also available on site ($15 per walk), while massage and grooming services can also be arranged.



2. Hotel Monaco Portland, Portland, Oregon: The pet amenity program at this boutique downtown hotel ($330/night) is overseen by Timmy, the four-legged "Director of Pet Relations." Complimentary amenities and services include bowls and beds for the duration of your pet's stay. The special "Portland Unleashed" package includes a doggie makeover, a map of pet-friendly breweries and more.



3. Affinia Dumont, NYC, New York: It's no coincidence that the bar and restaurant of this Midtown East property ($227-$531/night + $25 pet-surcharge per stay) is called the Barking Dog. Amenities at this animal-loving lodge include plush dog beds and a travel water bowl for guests to take home. Additional services include pet taxis and even a pet psychic.



4. Argonaut Hotel, San Francisco, California: All creatures great and small are welcome at the Argonaut ($195-$401/night) as guests. Travelers visiting in the fall can participate in the hotel's annual "Pet Howl'oween" event, where canines are encouraged to show off their creative costumes. The hotel supplies all the pet necessities you'll need from beds to bottled water.



5. Nine Zero Hotel, Boston, Massachusetts: Located across from the Boston Common's 50 acres of public park-land, this downtown hotel's ($249-$455/night) setting is every bit as pet-friendly as its amenities. A complimentary "In the Doghouse" pet package includes a designer pet welcome treat and in-room pet bed and bowl.



6. The Broadmoor, Colorado Springs, Colorado: This property's ($377/night + $35 pet-surcharge per stay) "Pitty Pat Pet Club" program provides bedding, bowls and a 24-hour in-room dining menu, complete with gourmet treats for cats and dogs. Pet-walking is allowed in designated areas and maps of local pet parks and scenic spots are also provided, ensuring that four-legged friends have the option of frolicking in spectacular surroundings.



7. Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch, Scottsdale, Arizona: This resort's ($118-$364/night + $50 pet-surcharge per night) "4Paws" pet-friendly program offers comfy pet beds and a "Beastro" menu, featuring canine veggie bruschetta and feline seafood parfait. Pets should weigh a maximum of 40 pounds, although larger pets may be allowed at the resort's discretion.



8. Hotel Solamar, San Diego, California: In addition to providing complimentary treats, cozy beds, plus food and water bowls in guest rooms, Hotel Solamar's ($176-$336/night) Very Important Pet (VIP) Program can arrange everything from pet bonding sessions to pet massage to help both pets and their people unwind during their stay.



9. Sheraton Seattle Hotel, Seattle, Washington: This hotel ($196-$287/night) supplies all pet-toting guests with a "Pet Welcome Pack" filled with information and supplies. Hounds (up to a weight of 80 pounds) can enjoy sweet dreams in their very own Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Dog Bed, "Dog in Room" door tags will ensure they do not receive any unexpected visitors while you are out.



10. Loews Coronado Bay Resort, Coronado, California: All pets receive edible treats, a pet tag and bowl upon check-in at this resort ($207-$372/night + $25 pet-surcharge per stay), but the pet-friendly fun also extends to the sand and surf. Travelers booking the "Su'ruff Camp" package receive a doggie surf lesson, board shorts and a bandana for their pup, plus a "Surf-n-Turff" room service pet meal.
